Here we have a single malt from the Hardenberg Distillery in Lower Saxony in northwest Germany, dubbed Beverbach. It’s double distilled from malted wheat and barley and aged in first fill bourbon casks. Then, the whiskey is finished in barrels which previously held brandy for a little fruity kick to the flavour profile.
Nose: Strong malt aromas alongside a whisper of smoke, subtle vanilla, dried fruit and honey.
Palate: Oak influence is clear here, with oily nuts, vanilla sponge cake, slightly burnt toast and baking spice.
Finish: Nougat, more dried fruit returns alongside vanilla pod.
